In 2012 this winery was born from the idea that a winery can exist in the historic district of a town famous for football. Nestled in a unique building in downtown Massillon, Ohio, with an ambiance of Camelot, you can relax with your favorite glass of wine. Our biggest challenge was finding the right name for our winery. Of the many pages of names, we ended up going with the very first one we thought of; Newman Creek Cellars.
Since then we have expanded to have a retail store for at home wine making, and now have a vineyard that overlooks the valley where Newman Creek flows.
Bob and Keelie Mann are the driving force behind Newman Creek Cellars and The Winey Quilter.
Bob is our designated winemaker and tasting extraordinaire. He is filled with knowledge and is always eager to answer questions. He teaches all of our in house wine making classes and can guide you on your at home wine making journey.
Keelie has an eye for fabrics, and a taste for great wine. She recently has introduced the idea of having a fabric store inside of the winery! Visitors from across the Northeast have come to have a glass of wine and admire her quilts hanging throughout the tasting room. She hosts various "Sip and Sew" events for all to enjoy, and features Kaffe Fassett fabrics for sale in our showroom.
From the very beginning we wanted our wines to be a fun representation of the Camelot theme throughout our winery! Each has been uniquely named to match the style and flavor profile of each wine. Some of our award wining wines include our Round Table (Malbec) and Chivalry (Chardonnay).
